The Chairperson of the Oyo State Rule of Law Enforcement Authority (OYRLEA), Honourable Justice Aderonke Adekemi Aderemi (Rtd.), on Wednesday, 28th January, 2026, led a courtesy visit to the Commander, 2 Division Garrison, Nigerian Army, Major General A.S. Budaje.
The Chairperson was accompanied by the Executive Adviser to His Excellency, the Governor of Oyo State, on Rule of Law Enforcement, Rtd. CP Sonubi Ayodele Olufemi, alongside members of the Management Team of the Authority.
During the visit, Honourable Justice Aderemi stressed the strategic importance of inter-agency collaboration, particularly the need to continuously carry along security operatives in the activities of OYRLEA. She advocated sustained support from the Nigerian Army whenever the Authority’s Enforcement Team is deployed on official assignments, in order to ensure effective and orderly operations.
In his remarks, the Executive Adviser to the Governor on Rule of Law Enforcement, Rtd. CP Sonubi Ayodele Olufemi, lauded the synergy that has always been in existence amongst Uniform Services, the Military and others related.
He emphasized on the need for tactical support across the State as required to step up the enforcement exercise by the Authority, noting that such cooperation is critical to achieving optimum performance during enforcement activities.
Responding, the Garrison Commandant, 2 Division Garrison, Nigerian Army, Major General AS Budaje, describes the visit as a right step in the right direction and assured OYRLEA of the Nigerian Army’s backing.
He said ‘ for us as a Military formation, we have a mandate of securing Oyo State and its citizens’
He further stated that the Army’s surveillance operations would complement and not in any way jeopardise or go against the lawful duties of OYRLEA and other Taskforce officials, adding that prior information is critical before embarking on operational activities.
The visit underscored the shared commitment of both institutions to strengthened collaboration in the enforcement of the rule of law and the maintenance of public order across Oyo State.
