
The Oyo State Rule of Law Enforcement Authority (OYRLEA), on Wednesday, held its New Year Prayer Meeting to usher in the new working year with thanksgiving, prayers, and spiritual reflection.
The meeting, which was graciously hosted by the Chairperson of the Authority, Honourable Justice Aderonke Adekemi Aderemi (Rtd.), had in attendance, the Reverend J.K. Afolabi of Riverside Victory International Christian Ministry, alongside all members of staff of the Authority.
The programme commenced with an opening address delivered by the Information and Public Relations Officer of the Authority, Mrs. Opeyemi Ogunniyi, who welcomed members of staff and invited guests. She emphasized the importance of committing the activities of the new year into God’s Hands.
The meeting featured prayers, Bible readings, words of exhortation, and the ministration of the Word of God by Revd. J.K. Afolabi. Revd. Afolabi admonished on the importance of thanksgiving, unity among staff, the need for restrategising for better productivity, while emphasising on the virtues of forgiveness and tolerance as essential values for peaceful co-existence and effective service delivery within the Authority.
Other highlights of the programme was the appreciation messages by representatives of Departments, who expressed gratitude to the Chairperson, describing her as a mother, while pledging renewed commitment and improved performance in the new year. The Acting Director, Administration and Supplies, Mr Toyin Ilias Aluku coordinated this session.
In her uplifting address, the Chairperson, Honourable Justice Aderonke Adekemi Aderemi (Rtd.), thanked God for His love, protection, and guidance over the Authority. She further expressed deep appreciation to the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Oluseyi Makinde, for his continuous support, love, and dedication towards the growth and effectiveness of the Authority.
She also commended members of staff for their hard work and dedication in the previous year, urging them to do more, re-strategize, and remain focused in the year ahead. The Chairperson specially applauded the Enforcement Team for their outstanding performance, naming them the Best Performing Department of the just concluded Year.
She announced plans to introduce a “Staff of the Month” recognition, with framed photographs to be displayed at the reception monthly as a motivation and reward system.
The meeting was concluded with prayers for the Authority, by and large, the State Government and its Residents, led by the Chief of Staff to the Chairperson, I.E. Akinbode Esq.
The event ended on a joyful note with light entertainment and photo session, fostering unity, appreciation, and renewed enthusiasm among staff members.
Overall, the New Year Prayer Meeting was a successful and impactful gathering, setting a positive, spiritually guided, and purposeful tone for the year’s activities at the Oyo State Rule of Law Enforcement Authority.
